Privacy policy
Last updated: October 2026. This is a plain-language summary and a first draft pending legal review.
We built sindhi.me to connect people, not to harvest data. We collect the minimum needed to run the service, we never sell it, and we don't use third-party advertising trackers.
What we collect
- Account: your email (and phone, if you use phone sign-in), a password you choose, and verification codes we send to confirm it's you.
- Profile: your first name, the village your family is from, the city you live in, an optional one-liner, interests, and an optional photo. All of this is what you choose to share.
- Activity: salaams, chats, and city-wall posts you create, so the service works.
- Technical: basic, privacy-friendly, aggregate analytics with no third-party trackers. We never put personal data in URLs.
What we never collect or use
- We never ask about, store as a filter, or let anyone search by caste or faith. Faith appears on your profile only if you choose to add it.
- No advertising profiles. No selling or renting your data to anyone.
Your controls
- Pin privacy: set your location to public, city-only, or hidden.
- Women's mode: only be shown to, and only see, other women.
- Block & report: one tap, any time.
- Export: request a copy of your data.
- Delete: delete your account any time; we hard-purge your data after a 30-day grace period.
Processors
We run on AWS (hosting, database, email). We use a messaging provider to deliver verification codes. These providers process data only to deliver the service.
